Poke and Wrap + Squeeze

When it comes to making reliable splices, 'Poke and Wrap' is a popular technique among installers in the automotive industry, also one of the most reliable. Here on your attention is an improved version of it, invented and tested in the field by Startblocker. 

Although the standard Poke & Wrap is fairly reliable, due to vibrations in the vehicle it may still come loose. Common practice among professional installers is to secure the connection with a zip-tie over the insulation tape. In this article we suggest an alternative of the zip-tie method, which helps to preserve the small size of the splice and make it easier to wrap it with tape and form a harness that looks no different than the OEM. This is important when working on vehicles still in warranty or a covert installation is desired. It's a good practice when splicing wires in any installation.
